Why do people by SUV?

Most of the time I don't understand my people buy and SUV over a car or Minivan. Yea I know minivans aren't all that cool but they can do most of the things that a large SUV can do and deliver better fuel mileage and a better drive usually for less money. for the most part the SUVs are never taken off road and the 4WD is mostly used for extra traction in the snow. however a 2WD car with 4 snow tires would get similar traction and turn and stop better then just an SUV. most of the time they are just driven around on the road with just 1 person in them. usually hitting a curb is the most extreme off roading they get to do. the spike in fuel prices show just how useless and expensive these vehicles are.  

Thinking about the Fiesta

So recently I have been thinking a lot about the Fiesta movement. One day at school I was thinking about it as I walked to my next class and some teacher stopped me and told me that I had a smile on my face and how that was a good thing because it made every body around me happier. Also on the night of my birthday party someone brought up the fiesta challenge and I somehow in and intoxicated state said that if I got the car I would take my friends of a road trip to California. The thought of having a new car is just so exciting. I was also thinking about trying to get the car featured on a TV program or something if I win it.

The Worst Car In the World

I have personally always kind of hated toyota. Yes they do make some good reliable cars but for the most part I think they are all boring. Recently they have killed of the exciting cars that they did make like the MR2 and the Celica. They have been replaced by lame remakes like the XRS Corolla. Even the Scion brand which is suppose to make exciting cars fails with the xB and xD. The tC is an cool exciting car but its kind of hard to mess up a two door coupe. Also the Lexus brand makes some dull cars. They have there own rebadged version of the Camry and if it wasn't for the recent launch of there new F badge for the IS model i would say that there wasnt much hope.

Work

So I'm glad I have a job and all. But like I have said school has started recently and I am continuing to work to a considerable amount. It just seems so odd to me. There are so many ppl who are in desperate need of a job and Im working to many hours at work. I have tired to get someone else to take some of my hours but part of the problem is that most of my hours are on the weekend and people still aren't willing to work then and they also have there own lives with stuff to do so they cant just drop what they are doing. I have been at my job for over 4 years and they have always been as flexible as possible with my needs and good to me. Now I am able to do a number of different jobs in the restaurant so my boss needs me to fill some gaps. But it means that i am kind of working to much for school. hopefully this will all soon change so I can have some time off to enjoy my weekends and the fact that I will soon be 21 years old.

A Winter Wonderland

So tonight in the Berkshires we got more snow. we had a snow and ice storm on wednesday like most of the country but we got a few more inches tonight. The snow had stopped around 10 and I got out of work just before 11. I was expecting the roads to be ok to drive on. To my surprise the city of Pittsfield didn't send out any of there plows so most of the roads were still covered in snow. To me the idea of snow covered roads is kind of exciting I get the chance to try out a few drifts and stuff. I do still keep it reasonable because I don't want to mess up my car. Im also vary glad that I got four winter tires put on my car. Both of my partents only put two winter tires on there cars. I have driven my moms car which is similar to mine in the show and I think that the extra set of wither tires makes a huge difference. I could feel that the back end was a lot looser and much more likely to overseer. My manager at work also told me that if you get in an accident with only 2 snow tires that the insurance company wont cover it. My Car

So I have always been very interested in cars and so far I have only really owned one car. It is a 1996 Volvo 850 wagon. It is in no way the coolest car ever but I still love it. I got it right before I got my license. so i have had it for about 4 and a half years now and have put about fifty thousand miles on it. It has been a real trooper and has stood up to much of the abuse that I throw at it. I haven't been nice to the car and so far it has mostly stayed in one piece. After sliding it into a curb I have had to have a number of parts replaced on the front suspension. Right now the fan isn't working right so I don't have much heat in my car which really sucks in winter. But I love my car because it still has a lot of nice features and is fast enough for me for the most part. It is also very safe. A number of things that my old car has are just becoming available on some cars today. It has side airbags and whip lash protection and I think its impossible to lock your keys in it. Because its a station wagon no body ever really expects it to be driven fast or aggressively. Also it doesn't stick out much to the police. I have heard about other people who have sports cars and they do get pulled over but the police more frequently. If I had the money I would love to tune the car up a bit. IPD make a number of nice aftermarket parts for my car that would make it handle and stop better. I have ordered other parts from them that do an exelent job of curing small problems with the car like the rear tailgate. I would also at some point like to drive an R model. They are the high output turbocharged versions.

School...

So like i said school started last week and I have had kind of a hard time getting back in the swing of things. Over break i have kind of gotten in the habit of staying up till some kind of odd hours. it doesn't work so well now that I have to get up at 8 am for class. I only have to go 3 days a week so its hard to get in routine when I  only have to wake up three days out of seven. There was also a snow day on wednesday so I didn't get up and I stayed up late the night before to. Also I have been kind of distracted by my personal life. I am kind of a big procrastinator so I don't need much of an excuse not to to homework and stuff and my social life sure has provided that recently. So I will be working on getting my act back in line for school.

Computer Charger

So I finally went and decided to figure out what was wrong with my computer. My charger had slowly been going and i guess that I was kind of hoping it wasn't the charger. The charger that I had gotten with the computer hand broken over the summer. I don't know why but i decided to try to buy one of of ebay instead of getting one from apple (yes I use a Mac and I love it). I guess I should have known it was a bad idea when it said the charger was in taiwan. after about 6 months the charger is dead now and I had to get a new one from the Mac place out here. I was the first time i had to got to this place called Mad Macs and it was kind of cool they were helpful and kind of gave me a deal. So I guess if you can help it but good stuff cause you get what you pay for. 

Classes start

So I started classes today at Berkshire Community College. I only had my afternoon classes today which was a nice way to ease back into school. This semester is going to be a tough one. I only have 4 classes but they are all hard. Today I had calculus 4 and differential equations. I will also have dynamics and physics 2 in the morning and I only have classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. After class I went to the mall to meet a friend. While we were there the air conditioning kicked on at full blast and was really loud so we left.

So far there are only a five up and there was only one other one that I like. This kind of gave me an idea for my video and i wanted to film it but unfortunately the battery in the camera was dead so here i am blogging instead.

Hey what's up? My name is Eric and i live out in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts. I follow a few blogs on line and decided I should try and start my own.
